1. What classes are admissions open for at GM Legacy School?

Admissions are open for students from the Foundational Stage (Pre-Nursery) to the Secondary Stage, as per the school’s phased introduction of classes and availability of seats.

2. When does the admission process begin?

The admission process usually begins in January for the academic session starting in June. Exact dates are announced every year on the school website and notice board.

3. What is the age criterion for admission?

The age of the child is calculated as on 1st June of the academic year, as per CBSE and Government of Karnataka norms. Detailed age-wise eligibility is provided in the Eligibility Criteria section.

4. How can I apply for admission?

Parents can:

  • Collect the application form from the school office, or
  • Download and submit the form through the school website, where online facility is available.

5. Is there any entrance test for admission?

  • For Foundational and Primary classes, there is no formal entrance test. Only a simple interaction is conducted.
  • For Middle and Secondary classes, a basic assessment may be conducted to understand the student’s academic level.

6. Is there any donation or capitation fee charged?

No. GM Legacy School does not charge any donation or capitation fee, strictly in accordance with CBSE and government regulations.

7. How are students selected for admission?

Selection is based on:

  • Fulfilment of age and eligibility criteria
  • Performance in interaction / assessment (where applicable)
  • Availability of seats in the concerned class

8. What documents are required at the time of admission?

Generally, the following documents are required:

  • Birth Certificate
  • Aadhaar Card (if available)
  • Previous year Report Card (for Class I and above)
  • Transfer Certificate (for transfer admissions)
  • Passport size photographs
  • Address proof

9. Are transfer admissions allowed?

Yes. Transfer admissions are permitted from Class I to Class IX, subject to seat availability and CBSE guidelines. Admissions to Class X and XII are allowed only in exceptional cases as per CBSE rules.

10. Can admission be taken in the middle of the academic year?

Mid-session admissions are considered only in exceptional cases, such as transfer of parents, and subject to availability of seats and school approval.

11. What is the student–teacher ratio in the school?

The school maintains an optimal student–teacher ratio as prescribed by CBSE to ensure individual attention and quality teaching.

12. How will I know if my child is selected?

Parents will be informed through phone, email, or SMS. A Provisional Admission Letter will be issued to selected candidates.

13. What is the procedure after provisional selection?

Parents must:

  • Pay the prescribed fees within the given time, and
  • Submit original documents for verification to confirm admission.

14. Is there an orientation programme for new students and parents?

Yes. An orientation programme is conducted before the start of the academic session to familiarise parents and students with school policies, curriculum, and routines.

15. Can parents meet the Principal before taking admission?

Yes. Parents may meet the Principal or Admission Officer by prior appointment during office hours.

16. Is there any reservation policy followed?

Reservation, if applicable, is followed strictly as per Government of Karnataka norms and CBSE guidelines.

17. Does the school provide transport facility?

18. What if we fail to pay the fees within the given time?

If fees are not paid within the stipulated time, the provisional admission may stand cancelled and the seat may be allotted to another candidate.
