At GM Legacy School, we welcome students seeking transfer admission from other recognized schools, subject to availability of seats and fulfilment of eligibility criteria as prescribed by CBSE and the Government of Karnataka.
Transfer admissions are considered for students who are relocating, changing schools for genuine reasons, or seeking continuity of education in a CBSE-aligned institution.
Eligibility for Transfer Admissions
- The student must be transferring from a recognized school affiliated to CBSE or any other recognised Board.
- Admission is granted only if there is a vacant seat in the concerned class.
- The student must satisfy the age criteria and academic eligibility for the class sought.
- Transfer admissions are normally permitted up to Class IX, subject to CBSE rules.
- Admission to Class X and XII is permitted only in exceptional cases, strictly as per CBSE regulations.
Classes Open for Transfer Admission
Class I to Class VIII
Subject to availability of seats.
Class IX
Limited seats; assessment may be conducted.
Class X & XII
Only with prior permission of CBSE and under special circumstances.
Procedure for Transfer Admission
Initial Enquiry
Parents should contact the Admissions Office to check seat availability in the desired class.
Submission of Application
Submit the Transfer Admission Application Form along with copies of required documents.
Interaction / Assessment
An interaction and/or academic assessment may be conducted to understand the student’s learning level. This helps in appropriate class placement and academic support.
Provisional Selection
If found suitable, a Provisional Admission Offer will be issued.
Document Verification and Fee Payment
Admission is confirmed only after submission and verification of all original documents and payment of fees.
Documents Required for Transfer Admission
- Transfer Certificate (TC) from the previous school
- Previous Year Report Card / Mark Sheet
- Birth Certificate
- Aadhaar Card (if available)
- Character Certificate (for Class IX and above)
- Migration Certificate (if transferring from another Board)
- Passport Size Photographs
Important Guidelines
- Transfer Certificate must be issued by a recognized authority and countersigned wherever required.
- For students transferring from other Boards, admission will be subject to equivalence and CBSE guidelines.
- Mid-session admissions may be considered only in exceptional cases.
- The school reserves the right to refuse transfer admission if documents are incomplete or eligibility is not met.
CBSE Regulations for Class X & XII
Transfer to Class X or XII is governed strictly by CBSE Affiliation Bye-Laws. Such admissions require prior approval of CBSE and valid reasons such as parent transfer, medical grounds, or government orders.
